Director of Quality Resources

Luther Midelfort-Mayo Health System, an integrated health system in west-central Wisconsin, is seeking a proven leader for its Director of Quality Resources. This management position is responsible and accountable for Quality Resources throughout the Luther Midelfort system, including its regional facilities. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • System wide implementation of process management and measurement
  • Serves as the organizational expert on all aspects of Lean and Six Sigma
  • Provides strategic leadership in process improvement, clinical measurement and data management activities
  • Manages Quality Resources Department, including budgets and personnel
  • Supports planning and management efforts to use Baldrige criteria in managing the organization including the application process as requested
  • Teaches and supports project teams to improve critical business, clinical and service processes.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business administration, industrial engineering or related field required. Also requires a minimum of 3 years experience with Toyota Production System (Lean) process improvement implementation experience in a service industry & Lean teaching, mentoring, facilitating and coaching experience. A Master’s degree, Lean Master and/or Six Sigma certification, and management experience in healthcare preferred.

Quality Improvement Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY:
The Quality Improvement Coordinator is responsible for collecting, analyzing and reporting data. From the analysis of the data, the Coordinator assists in the design, implementation and evaluation of quality improvement initiatives for medical staff, hospital staff and leaders, and administration.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is strongly preferred.
  • Three years of recent acure care clinical experience in a hospital setting is required. Experience in quality improvement, data management, data reporting, medical records and/or coding is preferred.
  • Proficient in use of computer software for word processing, spreadsheets, data base systems, and basic knowledge of statistics is required.
  • Current State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse license.

EXPERIENCE & SPECIAL SKILLS:
Able to develop effective work relationships with all customers (medical staff, management staff, and employees).

The Medical College of Wisconsin currently has two challenging and rewarding full-time positions open in the growing team of the Office for Joint Clinical Quality.

Clinical Quality Coordinator
Primary role is to support quality improvement projects implemented through the Medical College of Wisconsin, Medical College Physicians, and Froedtert Hospital.  Work independently under the administrative direction of the Medical Directors and Program Manager of the Office of Joint Clinical Quality (JQO) to coordinate the day-to-day activities for clinical quality projects.  Provide guidance to multidisciplinary project teams to facilitate the achievement of quality goals.  Work with clinical data and programs to answer questions and assess improvement related to best practice.  Utilize nursing/patient care experience to implement quality initiatives across many clinical areas.

Quality Database Analyst III
Develop and support existing quality databases for the Office of Joint Clinical Quality (JQO).  Responsible for assessing feasibility of data management for clinical quality projects.  Interfaces with other data professionals across our system relating to many databases and their use.  Responsible for designing and maintaining databases, and analysis.  Manage and coordinate data for clinical quality improvement, reporting, and monitoring.  Specific needs include tracking patients across the continuum of care (multiple data systems), projects that require large, multi-disciplinary data integration, and hardwiring process and outcome measures for public reporting.  Design enhancements in electronic systems to provide state-of-the art and real-time clinical data availability.  Build systems seamlessly into workflow.
